Epic Seven Custom Group Summon Guide: Should You Pull?
Is the Custom Group Summon Worth It?
The Custom Group Summon is here, and it’s time to decide whether it’s worth spending your hard-earned bookmarks. If you’ve been saving up and are on the fence about whether to pull, let’s break down everything you need to know before making a decision.
Who’s Not Available?
First things first—some units are completely off the table. You won’t find recent or collaboration units here, including:
-
Collab Units: Overlord, Fullmetal Alchemist, Guilty Gear, Re:Zero, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and AESPA collabs.
-
Recent Units: Schniel, Afternoon Soak Flan, Young Senya, and Tori (they need to be at least six months old before being added to the custom summon pool).
If you were hoping to snag any of these, you’re out of luck—they simply aren’t included in this banner.
Who’s Not Worth It?
Now, let’s talk about the units that aren’t worth spending bookmarks on. Any non-limited RGB unit should be avoided. Here’s why:
-
They can drop from random banners at any time.
-
Covenant summons could randomly give them to you.
-
Selector tickets—Smilegate often hands these out, especially during big anniversary events, so you might get them for free later.
-
Better banners are coming—future collabs, limited units, and brand-new releases are always around the corner.
If you’re struggling in the game because you’re missing a specific unit, then go for it. Otherwise, save your bookmarks for banners that offer better long-term value.
Meta Usage & Solid Picks
Now for the real question: Which units are actually worth pulling from this banner? We’ve broken it down into Meta Usage and Solid Pickups to help you decide. These do include non-limited RGB units and are just the strongest units on the banner.
Meta Usage (Top Priority Picks)
These are the strongest limited units currently available in the Custom Group Summon:
-
Diene – A strong support unit who’s making waves in RTA.
-
Mort – Insanely strong, especially if you didn’t grab him from the second selective summon.
-
Nahkwol – A solid opener (though a bit inconsistent) with a decent artifact.
-
Celine – A good counter pick, and her artifact is useful even without max limit breaking.
-
Jenua – Still a strong DPS option if you need one.
Solid Pickups (Decent Options But Not Must-Have)
These units have niche uses or are solid but not game-changing:
-
Seaside Bellona – Minor PVE usage (Labyrinth, Nightmare Raid), but her PVP relevance has dropped significantly.
-
Ocean Breeze Luluca – Was a meta powerhouse but has since been outclassed. Still usable in RTA.
-
Amid– Good for Arena.
-
Alencia – Pairs well with Jenua, a decent standalone unit, but not top-tier.
Artifacts Worth Considering
Even if you don’t plan on summoning, there’s a way to use the banner strategically for the powder shop. Simply do one summon to populate the shop with artifacts from the banner. Here are the top artifacts worth considering:
-
Sole Consolation – Great alternative to Guardian Ice Crystals for Soul Weavers.
-
Guiding Light – Essential for Cleavers and fast playstyles.
-
Sigurd Scythe – One of the best Bruiser artifacts for Warriors.
-
Bird’s Eye View – Useful for Frida and Birgitta for soul generation.
-
Touch of Rekos – Great PVE artifact, useful in some PVP setups.
-
Prayer of Solitude – Limited artifact that’s useful for HP-stacking Warriors.
Who Should You Avoid?
Some units just aren’t worth it, even if they’re limited:
-
Biblis – Only useful for autoing Nightmare Queen (manual works just fine).
-
Fairy Tale Tenebria – Niche uses at best, but not worth your bookmarks.
-
Elena – Nice, but not essential.
-
Hwayoung – Exists, but isn’t impactful.
Final Verdict: Should You Pull?
Ask yourself these three questions before summoning:
-
Do you have at least 600 bookmarks? If not, stay away. If you run out before hitting the guarantee, you’ll lose your pity.
-
Are you okay with spending money on upcoming banners? If not, you might regret pulling now.
-
Is there a unit here that you absolutely need to enjoy the game? If yes, go for it. If not, wait for better opportunities.
Conclusion: A Lackluster Banner?
This isn’t the most exciting Custom Group Summon we’ve seen. If you’re set on pulling, stick to the meta units, but in most cases, it’s better to save for future banners. Personally, I'm skipping this one.
That said, don’t forget to do a single summon if you want to unlock artifact purchases in the powder shop.
